Greek Turkey Meatballs with Homemade Tzatziki Sauce

A delicious and healthy Mediterranean recipe combining Greek turkey meatballs with a refreshing homemade tzatziki sauce.


Ingredients

  • 1 pound lean ground turkey
  • 1/2 cup finely chopped onion
  • 1/4 cup finely chopped fresh parsley
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/4 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1/4 cup crumbled feta cheese (optional)
  • 1 large English cucumber, peeled and grated
  • 1 cup Greek yogurt
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/4 cup finely chopped fresh dill
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 2 tablespoons lemon juice

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. In a large bowl, combine the ground turkey, chopped onion, parsley, garlic, salt, pepper, and oregano. Mix well with your hands or a wooden spoon until just combined.
  3. If using feta cheese, fold it into the meat mixture.
  4. Use your hands to shape the mixture into small meatballs, about 1 1/2 inches (3.8 cm) in diameter. You should end up with around 20-25 meatballs.
  5. Place the meatballs on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper, leaving a little space between each meatball to allow for even cooking.
  6. Bake the meatballs in the preheated oven for 18-20 minutes, or until cooked through and lightly browned on the outside.

Notes

You can store the cooked meatballs in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days or freeze them for up to 2 months.
