Description
Open-faced mini grilled cheese on sweet Hawaiian rolls with garlic butter, Cheddar, and Provolone for crispy, gooey party bites.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 package (12-count) original Hawaiian sweet rolls
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 1.5 cups shredded sharp Cheddar cheese
- 1 cup shredded Provolone or Gruyère cheese
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
- 1 tablespoon fresh parsley, finely chopped
- A pinch of flaky sea salt
- Optional: 1/2 cup cooked, crumbled beef bacon
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Slice the slab of Hawaiian rolls in half horizontally without separating them.
- Place both halves cut side up on the baking sheet.
- Mix melted butter, garlic powder, onion powder, and half the parsley.
- Brush the garlic butter generously over the cut sides of the rolls.
- Evenly distribute Cheddar and Provolone over each roll.
- Sprinkle beef bacon over cheese if using.
- Bake for 8–10 minutes until cheese is melted and bubbling.
- Broil for 60–90 seconds until cheese is golden with brown spots.
- Remove and top with remaining parsley and flaky sea salt before serving.
Notes
For extra crunch, pre-toast the rolls for 3 minutes before adding butter. Use block cheese and grate it yourself for better melting. Avoid watery butter to prevent soggy bottoms. Store leftovers in the fridge up to 3 days and reheat in air fryer or toaster oven.
